He teaches at the Schulich School of Business and has also worked for the Sydney Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games in SydneyIt's not really an either/or choice, Little Rise is a quick, fun read that provides a brief immersion into some important global trends viewed from Shanghai and Hong Kong (I don't say "viewed from China" as there are other Chinese perspectives). One minor quibble is the book starts with a map of the world, with China relegated to the right margin, in a projection that makes it look one-fourth the size of Greenland instead of more than four times as big. If only we were listening, and centered enough to hear. While it is sometimes hard to read because of that, it has a gritty reality that adds to its impact.I do think the book could have done with more editing; there are repetitions that are unnecessary, but very hard for an author to catch on his or her own. The characters are likeable and credible. This is surely one of the best. For people who want an honest view of life along with a dose of mystery and adventure, this is absolutely the book for you!. Chock full of Butterfly photos! Gorgeous book. He falls madly in love with a sulky, sultry beauty who promises to be difficult. And Mlle. I admire this book for its originality.
